Giraffe Manor, Nairobi (Kenya)

Discover website ↗

Nestled within 12 acres of private land inside a 140-acre indigenous forest sanctuary in Nairobi’s leafy Langata suburb, Giraffe Manor is one of Africa’s most singular and storied retreats. Built in 1932 as a Scottish-style manor house, this intimate boutique hotel has been transformed into a living testament to conservation and refined hospitality, where a resident herd of endangered Rothschild giraffes roams freely across the estate.

Mornings here unfold at a pace dictated by nature: long-necked silhouettes appear at the windows at breakfast, their velvet muzzles seeking a gentle greeting from guests seated at the dining table. Evenings carry the same unhurried magic, as golden light filters through the forest canopy and the manor’s elegant interiors — rich wood paneling, antique furnishings, and curated African art — invite quiet contemplation.

Part of The Safari Collection, Giraffe Manor operates in close partnership with the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife, ensuring that every stay directly supports the preservation of one of the world’s rarest giraffe subspecies. With just twelve individually designed rooms, exclusivity is absolute and the experience profoundly personal.
