Mashpi Lodge, Pacto (Ecuador)

Discover website ↗

Perched on a mist-draped plateau deep within Ecuador’s Chocó cloud forest, Mashpi Lodge is one of South America’s most singular expressions of luxury in nature. Set within a private 1,300-hectare reserve in the Metropolitan District of Quito, the lodge rises from the forest floor as a feat of contemporary architecture — its floor-to-ceiling glass walls dissolving the boundary between interior comfort and the living wilderness beyond.

Home to over 400 bird species, iridescent glass-wing butterflies, and flora found nowhere else on Earth, the reserve operates as both a sanctuary and a living laboratory. Guests move through the canopy aboard a sky bike, drift silently on the life centre’s observation decks, and follow expert naturalist guides along trails threaded through one of the planet’s most biodiverse ecosystems. Every stay is fully all-inclusive — meals crafted from regional ingredients, guided excursions, and transfers all woven seamlessly into the experience.

Mashpi Lodge does not simply offer proximity to nature; it offers immersion in it, on terms that never compromise on refinement or ecological integrity.
