A natural marine sanctuary of towering karst islets and hidden turquoise lagoons, Wayag stands as the most iconic seascape within Raja Ampat’s coral triangle. Emerald limestone domes rise abruptly from a labyrinth of glassy channels, their forested peaks mirrored in waters that shift from sapphire to jade depending on the hour.

The climb to the summit of Mount Pindito rewards the effort of scrambling over sharp karst rock with one of the most photographed panoramas in the archipelago: an intricate mosaic of limestone islands scattered across a mirror-calm lagoon stretching to the horizon. Below, reef sharks glide through shallow nurseries and manta rays pass through deeper channels, while hornbills and birds of paradise call from the dense island canopy.

Remote and largely untouched, Wayag remains under the stewardship of local Papuan communities and the Raja Ampat Marine Park authority, preserving both its ecological richness and its cultural significance as ancestral fishing grounds.
