A natural turquoise pool carved into ancient coral, the Piscine Naturelle d’Oro is one of the most extraordinary swimming spots in the South Pacific. Sheltered from the open ocean by a ring of coral rock, this shallow, crystalline basin sits at the edge of the Baie d’Oro on the eastern shore of Île des Pins, framed by towering endemic Araucaria pines and a fringe of pandanus. The water, warmed by the sun and filtered through the reef, glows in shades of jade and sapphire, revealing shoals of tropical fish and delicate coral formations just beneath the surface.
