A natural island paradise in the Indian Ocean, Nosy Iranja is actually two small islets—Nosy Iranja Be and Nosy Iranja Kely—joined by a slender, shimmering sandbank that appears and disappears with the tides. Located roughly 47 kilometers south of Nosy Be off Madagascar’s northwestern coast, this remote sanctuary is renowned for its powder-white beaches, translucent turquoise lagoons, and a rich marine ecosystem that includes nesting green sea turtles along its protected shores.
