|Baía do Sancho Fernando de Noronha, Brazil ⚲
A natural beach and marine sanctuary, Baía do Sancho unfolds beneath dramatic emerald cliffs on the volcanic island of Fernando de Noronha, Brazil. Reached only by boat or via a narrow wooden staircase carved into the rock face, this secluded cove rewards the journey with luminous turquoise water, powder-soft sand and a hush broken only by waves and seabirds.
Part of a protected marine national park, the bay teems with sea turtles, reef fish and, in the calmer months, curious spinner dolphins that glide just offshore. The surrounding cliffs, cloaked in wind-sculpted vegetation, frame views that have repeatedly earned Sancho recognition among the world’s finest beaches.
There are no bars, vendors or sunbeds here — only raw Atlantic beauty, strict conservation limits on daily visitors, and an atmosphere of quiet, almost reverent wonder. It is a place best experienced slowly, mask and snorkel in hand, as the tide reveals hidden tide pools and the light shifts across the cliffs above.
