This natural coral atoll is one of the most beautiful lagoons in French Polynesia, a near-perfect ring of rose-tinted and ivory sand cradling a luminous turquoise sea. Rising from the deep sapphire waters of the Tuamotu Archipelago, Tikehau’s slender motu are strung together like pale beads, fringed by swaying coconut palms and edged by a living reef that scatters coral heads across the shallows in mosaics of amber and jade.

The blush hue of its shoreline, born from crushed coral and microscopic foraminifera, has earned Tikehau its nickname, the Pink Sand Island. Beneath the glassy inner sea, manta rays, blacktip sharks and shoals of tropical fish drift through one of the richest marine sanctuaries in the Pacific.
